Philosophy and Climate Change

My talk will discuss the philosophical significance of climate change. On the one hand I will argue that solving the problem of climate change requires philosophical reflection and debate. The way that climate change is conceptually framed as a problem already presents a philosophical quandary. Is it essentially an economic problem, a technical problem, or a moral and political problem? On the other hand I will show that climate change also forces philosophy itself to change. It is transforming profoundly the ways that we understand politics and view our human condition.
