Albert

David Albert is a professor of philosophy at Columbia University. He received his Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from the Rockefeller Institute in 1981. He has published three books on the foundations of physics— Quantum Mechanics and Experience, Time and Chance, and After Physics, all from Harvard University Press.

The Direction of Time

David Albert will outline a large philosophical-scientific project which aims at understanding the difference between the past and the future as a mechanical phenomenon of nature, rather than as a feature of the fundamental metaphysical structure of the world.
